CASAMANCE (AFRICA - SENEGAL)
ZIGUINCHOR : RATHER LIFE
Ziguinchor gentle on the banks of the Casamance River has kept its natural melancholy. Its counters, its administrative buildings, its colonial buildings, streets lit and the smell of green tea. Walks among the canoes bolongs a generous river where pelicans and flamingos live with the sinners of barracuda and captains.
And then the war with its attendant misery and suffering. Ziguinchor wakes up, abandoned to itself. Empty hotels and tourists fleeing a city wedged ... almost forgotten ... and all the Joola disaster that endeuille irreparably and further isolate the North.
Today, calm returns, the rebels most going to war seem tired. The day rises on the river subsided. This hope of peace the strength to believe again. Everyone does that one thing : " Ziguinchor, rather life ..."
