Born in Paris in 1966, Laurent Piolanti becomes a qualified engineer in 1992. Curious of other places and people, his travels take up most of his time (London, Budapest, Dublin, Belfast, ...) and he gradually finds himself in the world of Photography. |

In
1996, his meeting Yan Morvan leads him to work
on society issues and conflicts around the world. And then, closely
following news in the Balkans where he decided to live from 1997
to 2001 (Tirana, Prishtina, Mitrovica, Belgrade). He
takes part in exhibitions on "photographie.com" some
of his "virtual reports": "Anarchie Albanie", "The
train of hope", "Hello Europe were are you?".
His photographic work is distributed by press agency CorbisSygma
and SipaPress. After the end of the hostilities in Kosovo, Laurent Piolanti wins an award at the "Prix Kodak de la Critique Photographique (1999)", his work focussed on the communities of the Balkans, in search of an identity thru nationalism and revenge feelings. His photographic work with the refugies of Kosovo: "Transhumances" was presented in collaboration with Kodak, at the Perpignan Photo-journalism event, "Visa pour l'image 2000". |

then he has closely following news in Cisjordania (West Bank)
and Israel (2002). Coverage of the siege of the nativity church
in Bethlehem and Israeli Rempart operation in Hebron, Jenine,
Ramalah, Nablouse, ... |
